Day 4: Masada

Today we went hiking on Masada. Although the wind was blowing dust and dirt in our faces, we had a lot of fun! After walking up and down a mountain, we had lunch in a Bedouin Village. The food was very authentic, and delicious. Under the tent was sat at tables of four. We had rice, meat, salad, pita bread and tea. We talked, ate and just had a good time. The villagers also gave us a taste of their coffee. Then we went a camel ride. While I was on the camel excitement rushed through me as it stood up, and every step the camel took there was a big jolt. Later we went back home, and hung out on the 2 hour and 30 minute bus ride.

Jerusalem

Friday and Saturday were amazing!  When we arrived in Jerusalem,we went to the Wailing Wall.  There were many religious people that came to pray on Shabbat.  It was a very peaceful expierence. After that, we jumped on the bus and went to the hotel.  There, we enjoyed a Shabbat full of fun.  The food was great and the songs we sang brought togetherness and peace.  It was great to see everyone so dressed up.  We girls put makeup on Trevor and straightened his hair; I think he probably looked the best.  The next day we explored an art museum and we saw a model of Jerusalem which was so life like!  This was an awesome expierence to share with my friends! :)

Day Three: Tel Aviv Streets, Independence Hall

The whole group in front of the Habima theater in Tel Aviv.

Day 2- Palmach/Park

Today we all got to the school Shevach Mofet at about 8 am and had a meeting with the four of us (Ilana, Olivia, Sienna, and Trevor) with Jessica and Jennifer where they asked about how we slept, what we ate, etc. Then we had a small tour of the school and went to the computer lab and did a common project where we were divided into groups (every group had at least one American, one Lithuanian, and one Israeli!) and we worked on  a research project about historical sites in Israel (mine was the old city!). We then went and did "ice-breaking" activities where we learned a lot more about each other by playing two truths and a lie, and asking lots of questions, finding out everyone's birthday and amount of siblings and such. Then we went to lunch and then all took a bus to the Palmach museum. The Palmach museum tells the story of 10 Palmach members in company D through the Independence war. Afterwords we all went to the park and played soccer and jumped rope and talked! :) It was a very fun day.

We arrived safely in TA and were greeted so warmly by our hosts.  Can't wait to post an update tomorrow when we've begun our activities.
